Misc News.
Posted by Time2Die@ 9:41 AM EDT

Working. Trying to goto DC-CON7 this weekend with a buncha people. Working on the FRAG6 Intranet page and the Quake3 server configs. Been doing some work on the time2die.killersinc.com server how-to page. Found out that the killersinc.com page gets about 30 hits a day. Also found out that my time2die.killersinc.com page gets about 2-4 hits a day (much more than I would have thought).

Saw the X-men movie. I am a second gen X-men fan. That is to say that I like the second team over the classic first generation team. I haven't followed x-men tho in over 5 years so I'm out of touch with all that has happened and is current...but funny enough tho since they're sorta starting from the beginning of the x-men universe, they're telling the story from the time period I was collecting in. I would say x-men is worth seeing...it's not Mission Impossible 2 but everyone should go see the birth of a film franchise ;>

Liveware for Windows 2000.
Posted by Time2Die@ 6:04 PM EDT

Wee!...let the fun begin. I'll post more if I run into any issues. Only thing I would recommend is using the second US sight and not the first one...could just be me (and my CM connect). The second one was blazing for almost 200KBs...rocking. And just in case I have mirrored the files here...

Win2k SB Live Drivers.
Posted by Time2Die@ 8:52 AM EDT

Well NtCompatible scores again. New SB Live drivers here. Also a local mirror as that site seems to be pretty slow. No word yet on any fixes or improvements. These are Microsoft Certified tho so one would think that any issues to be had with the March drivers would be fixed with these.

Windows Me Overview.
Posted by Time2Die@ 4:40 PM EDT

Want to know the straight poop on Windows Millennium Edition (Me)? Some cool features and added applications are what's driving this OS. It has the nice Win2k interface and a ton of utils (isn't that what the earlier releases always lacked?) that make browsing the web and dealing with the file formats we all love to tinker with (mpgs, jpgs, mp3s, streaming audio). Here's the link: ActiveWin: Windows Millennium Edition - Review

Monday.

What a great weekend. Looking forward to the week with a few things popping up. Hopefully new Win2k SB-Live Drivers would be nice. IE 5.5 Final should be out as well. The usual mcafee update. And hopefully some surprises...(I like surprises). My new SDSL provider better call me before Wednesday...or I'll have to show them my "Incredible Hulk" customer service technic. Let's roll the wheel and see what Vanna has in store for us.

LAN Parties.
Posted by Time2Die@ 1:51 PM EDT

Woah...fixed up the LAN parties page. Gotta dig up some FRAG5 pictures as I never posted any. Dug up some pictures for a LAN I had back in OCT98 and posted those. Lunk seems to have figured my secret weapon at LAN's...my lucky ministry shirt. A shirt that Mindfazr picked up for me on one of his NYC trips back in like 98.

New nvidia Drivers.
Posted by Time2Die@ 11:27 AM EDT

Here ya go!. Links for both Win2k and Win9x. No word on performance increases or features. If you're not using FSAA and your 5.22 drivers are stable I wouldn't recommend upgrading. Probably just bug fixes.

New MS Mice.
Posted by Time2Die@ 12:55 PM EDT

Supposedly Microsoft is going to release some new mice that will offer a 33% higher refresh rate than what's currently out there. 1500 to 2000 samples a second by "the big red light living inside my mouse". Here's the link. Microsoft Optical mice have also been reportedly used to disable opponents by blinding them with the little, but bright red light it shines and then fragging them while their opponent tries to recover their vision...BASTARDS!

Quote.
Posted by Time2Die@ 12:22 PM EDT

N8_Dawg has tossed together a little ASP quote script and I've tossed a few examples in. Going to look through some logs tonight and add some more. If you have some golden examples email them to me.

Old Topic.
Posted by Time2Die@ 12:13 PM EDT

In case anyone was wondering (and remembers) I set the channel topic to "Independence Day...own it today". It wasn't a reference to the ID4 DVD that's out, even tho it is a nice 2 disc version. It was a sarcastic joke about how everything has a price tag and how the meaning and symbolism of our holidays are being lost in all the marketing noise of capilistic america. Freedom is slowly being morphed into some system of right and wrong with a general set of morals that have been dreamed up by the media. True freedom is free of boundries. You give up your freedom when you conform to what others think you should be or do. <Rant:>

ETG Server IP's.
Posted by Time2Die@ 1:13 PM EDT

OK. ETG went down this morning for about 15 minutes. It was at that point that I realized that the ETG Server IP page link didn't work anymore. SO I fixed it :>

I also updated the server ip's where needed and took off the dead servers. Some of the servers are using cascading ip's off of the main hostname (like in.enterthegame.com resolves to 2 different ip's).

Holiday.
Posted by Time2Die@ 9:08 AM EDT

Hope everyone had a great July 4th. Things were hopping on this end with plenty of Quake3 playing this weekend (catchup from when I had to go DAYS without playing while on vacation hehe) and topped the weekend off with a nice little BBQ at the house to celebrate the 4th. Bought some Fireworks and lit them in the street...much better than driving to the fair grounds (or where ever) only to hit crazy traffic for 30 wondrous minutes of fireworks. We had all the fun with none of the hassle with the BONUS CHANCE(!) of getting injured.
