XP and the Mouse Accel.
Posted by Time2Die@ 1:05 PM EDT

I have a trick of turning most of the Mouse Acceleration off in Windows XP. It's located under Start-> Settings -> Control Panel -> Accessibility Options -> Mouse -> Settings. Well I thought I'd poke around a bit more and sure enough I found reference that if you install the 3.2 version of the IntelliMouse software it'll allow you to turn and keep mouse acceleration turned off. Running it warns of the dangers of install...but I threw caution to the wind in testing and found that it seems to really work after a reboot. You can still download from MS from this link. It's 3.1a but it should still work.

The Dealio.
Posted by Time2Die@ 1:30 PM EDT

Been busy with CTFX and committed to seeing that to completion. We’ve had a few matches that I haven’t bothered to post about here. WARP tried to play us for OGL…that was a mess. The short version of that story was after taking 30 minutes to find a server and 15 minutes to get ready WARP announced out of the blue that it couldn’t field 4 as their starters had a 10pm TDM match which was news to us. After some bitching WARP fielded 4 and proceeded to take it in a very uncomfortable place (like the back of a VW?) on our map pick of W3. Game1 SS Afterwards they wouldn’t play game2 and tried to rescheduling for later that night, then later that week, then finally they pick last night and then don’t show. At 9:45 2 WARP players show up and that was about that. I sent the email in and Woofwoof waved his magic mouse and we got the forfeit win.

The Match we had was for week6 of CTFX vs GI. Here’s what I posted on CTFX:

For the KI vs GI match, KI picked it's w3 and dominated for 6 unanswered caps. GI picked w7 and made some good pushes towards KI's flag and some great base D but KI was able to make the plays where it counted and cashed in some great runs for caps. For w2 GI turned up the heat and took advantage of KI's false confidence of having won the last 2 games and went up 2-0 for the first 12-13 minutes. From some fine flag runs KI was able to tie it up with less than a minute to go only to lose it with a GI cap with less than 15 seconds in the game.

Here are the SS’s from that match-up: Game1Game2Game3

Off to NYC for the weekend with Smeg. See ya Sunday!

Then there were two!

Would like to welcome...um...jesteR to the clan! Double the pleasure, double the fun! He also runs a server which I've added to the server page...which could be confusing since JesteR also runs a server! Where will the fun end? Don't know...but I know where it'll begin! jesteR is still working on his bio page but here's the link.

CTFx week5 Match.
Posted by Time2Die@ 10:06 AM EDT

Last night we played and won our weekly CTFX match vs Infinity. We had to play on the Denver SpeakEasy server to keep pings fair but somehow we still out pinged them by about 10-15ms. We also ran some interesting lineups as Time2Die (me) is still having Cable Modem troubles and respect was absent. Infinity's pick was q3wcp9 and quickly gave everyone a scare as they went up 0-1 early in the game after an early flag standoff but we quickly tied and then went up 2-1. Infinity then tied up the game 2-2 but KI pulled together as a team and pulled ahead 5-2. A late cap made the final score 5-3. lukin played flag with BTF mid and blaze/n8 running O. We picked our favorite w3 and won 5-0. Infinity had the flag a few times but could never get theirs back to cap. A great team effort all around. N8 played flag with BTF in the middle and lukin/blaze running O. The last map was q3wcp14, the CTFX MOTW, and wasn't as fun. After KI went up 4-0 Infinity stopped playing… 20-0 was the final score with periods of "gauntlet only" fighting and lukin capping a couple times while running backwards. A sad way to end a match that started with such intensity. I would post screenshots…but no one in the game has sent me any :<

CTFx week4 Match.
Posted by Time2Die@ 4:13 PM EDT

Played and won our match vs 5d for week4 of CTFx. Thought there was going to be a major snag in playing when 5d announced that one of their 4 could only play on one server located in Dallas Texas but we were able to compromise on playing on Chicago. For game1 5d picked q3wcp1 and for game2 we picked q3w3. We won both games 9-0. For this weeks CTFX MOTW we had q3wcp6 to play and won that 10-2...which coincided with the end of the Lakers/Kings game7 OT game in which blaze went AFK for about 4 minutes to watch, thanks buddy! :> Game1 - Game2 - Game3
