I saw an interesting article at Anandtech regarding the next line of AMD processors, Clawhammer/SledgeHammer. It definitely gets the blood pumping. :o

We meet again...
Posted by Tranz@ 12:37 AM EST

Round two of Winter Haste - KI vs EoD - started with a bang when sF tried to sell his services to TGM for the name Malinko. And after an hour of server searching, we began with KI’s (new) ole standard, q3w3. For those of your who do not recall, KI received a new anus after the first meeting with EoD. We sure didn’t want a third anus, so we decided to channel our karma a little harder tonight. KI pressed hard and kept EoD’s defense scrambling. Q3w3 was a close game with KI leading after 20 minutes 3-2. The next map was q3ctf2. Both teams made many attempts to extract the opposing team’s flags, but EoD was the only one successful. It ended at 1-0 EoD. So that brings us to the tiebreaker map, q3wcp5. The t-dawg himself actually played this one with his craptacular 105ms ping. This had to be the most action packed of the series played. Both teams offense were constantly in each other’s base. Powerup control was about even throughout the map. Toward the end, EoD went really hard offense. The flags switched hands on several occasions. The tiebreaker tilted in KI’s favor with a score of 4-3. Finally, eod.VorTech gets the MVP award of the match for his l33tz0r rj in base. :-(

It sure is getting a little chilly around here. :-) ggz EoD!

Sunday Match and Sundry
Posted by Tranz@ 11:46 PM EST

First things first...I need to holla to my homes, kodone(sungun). Since he moved to Colorado, he has been wasting time snowboarding instead of focusing on his craft...q3 of course. ;-) And, we all need to tell him not to steal his dsl modem back from me. If anyone has an old dsl modem sitting around, email me. Thx.

Sunday night matches are oso tasty. This Sunday, we had the GoDamnIndependents challenge us on OGL. The maps chosen were q3w3, q3ctf2, and wnoise. W3 went as planned for KI. We held the majority of the powerups and kept the pressure on throughout the 20 minutes. TGM/Time2die kept the base locked down, while BTF and N8_Dawg pounded the GDI defense. GDI made it quite difficult to get their flag out. Once the bell rang, KI was up 6-0. Q3ctf2 is GDI’s map. Everyone knows that. Q3ctf2 lends itself nicely to GDI’s style of playing. KI got the first cap, with GDI scoring shorty after to tie. The map ended with KI up 2-1. Very close game. Anyone could have taken this one. Yay…no wnoise!

GGz GDI!

Just an interesting point.

DTS, the clan we player last night, seems to be having all kinds of trouble. Here's a cached.net article of their Winterhaste folies.
http://www.cached.net/?go=main/eventcoverage/single/429

Saying how rewket couldn't play the server we were on and then an hour later totally could...is very odd. No matter. Reminds me of a cool quote I saw one time in a nameless persons cube I was at fixing PC problems: BS...Can get you to the top...but it can't keep you there.

CAL3 Pre-season.
Posted by Time2Die@ 12:30 AM EST

Wee! After about an hour of dts delay and bullshit we got to play our first CAL3 Pre-season. The only reason we played this was because KI wanted the game and not just the forfeit win. At the one hour mark I was given the opportunity from the ref of either playing or taking the forfeit win...

First game was our pick of q3w3. We came out gunning and for the most part never looked back (3-1). The second game was dts's pick of q3wcp9...with results even better than the first game (5-0) . The third game was q3w2 and we were blind sided by dts aggressive playing style on this map with a loss of 2-5. To dts's defense the third map had rewket coming in with a 100ms difference in ping from just an hour before. To our defense, we had 3 people drop before tha match even started in disgust over the pre-match BS and In-ability of the CAL3 ref to get dts to respond. Thanks for everyone that played. Birthdays in the hiz-ouse.
Posted by Time2Die@ 5:59 PM EST

Today is N8_Dawg's birthday...HURRAY! Wednesday is also BTF's birthday. Random's birthday is today (or so says the topic) and tomorrow, like most days, is again not my birthday.

GDI for WinterHaste.
Posted by Time2Die@ 11:39 PM EST

Finished our match vs GDI tonight for the lower bracket (aka losers bracket :) with a victory. After waiting an hour for the match to begin due to GDI diffculties in getting their 4th and then catering to said player for server selection, we got down to actually playing the match. Since we were the home team, we got to pick which map we played first...a no brainer there! Our choice was q3w3, which started out slow but towards the end we had secured a sizable lead and even finished the game with a last second cap to win 7-0. Game two was GDI's pick of q3ctf2, which turned out to be a close game until towards the end when while trying to tie the game in a standoff, GDI went up 3-1 and the game ended up 4-1 after several standoffs and failed attempts to come back. The tie-breaker was q3wcp5 with the end result being a 4-2 KI win. Here's the SS's: Game1 - Game2 - Game3

We now re-face EoD in the lower bracket...

Interesting...almost mindbending.
Posted by Time2Die@ 10:09 AM EST

Here's a link to a page I saw posted on slashdot.org that has parsed the data of 4000+ EQ players. The reason to posting it here is that it does have some interesting facts and figures on how many hours people play, when, and with who as well as some little Quake figures thrown in here and there: http://www.nickyee.com/eqt/home.html

WinterHaste Matches.
Posted by Time2Die@ 11:27 PM EST

Had our WinterHaste match vs EoD this monday. KI is going to do what most clans refuse to...give props out to EoD for playing a hell of a game and not making some lame excuse as to why we lost. I grow tired of clans whining about this or that reason for why they are losing or lost. Good job EoD. Just know that the next time we meet ...we'll be gunning for blood. :> Game1 - Game2

To catch up a little on our WinterHaste matches...tonight we played SK and won both games. Here are the ss's: Game1 - Game2

Our first WinterHaste match vs 9th Legion was a KI win. Here is the SS I have from game1.
